We're seeking someone to join our Matrix Core team as a UI Developer in Advisory Sales and Distribution to work on the core framework and architectural components supporting Fixed Income and Commodities business.

This is a Software Engineering position at Director level, which is part of the job family responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions that support business needs.

What you’ll do in the role:

  • Develop solutions in  JavaScript/Angular, along with enhancing existing components
  • Participate in the design, development, and testing of software applications.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and debugging software issues.
  • Learn and apply best practices in software development methodologies.
  • Contribute to code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the software engineering team.
  • Engage in training and upskilling activities to enhance technical skills
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing technical guidance and direction.
  • Architect solutions that meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
  • Drive technical excellence through code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project roadmap and technical strategy.
  • Implement and advocate for best practices in software engineering and design patterns.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and adoption of new tools and technologies.
  • Lead efforts to refactor and optimize existing codebase for efficiency and maintainability.
  • Maintain and enhance existing software applications to optimize performance and functionality.
  • Integrate prepackaged software and services into the bank's technology ecosystem.
  • Conduct code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning to ensure software quality and reliability.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and tools to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Ability to engage with the broader team, communicate goals, tasks, and deliverables in 1-1 and team meetings.
  • Strong HTML5/JavaScript skills - preferably using Angular or other modern frameworks like React etc.
  • Experience developing enterprise applications that are robust, secure, and maintainable.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, ideally in Computer Science or a subject with an extensive Software development or Mathematical component.
  • At least 4 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in designing and implementing complex test scenarios.
  • Strong proficiency in software design and architecture.
  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
  • Mentorship of junior team members and code review expertise.
  • Expertise in performance optimization and scalability.
  • Ability to drive technical initiatives and provide leadership.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
