Job Description

Your Role

As a Principal Agile Coach, you will advise, mentor and coach leaders, managers, Product Owners, Product Managers, Scrum Masters, Team Coaches, and other Agile transformation stakeholders within a particular program (value stream). Drawing from your experience advising organizations, you lead by example and challenge the status quo to promote an environment and culture of continuous improvement, adaptation, experimentation, and innovation. With our excellent listening, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills, you help organizations achieve their targeted business outcomes.

You will be responsible for:

  • Act as a trusted advisor and guide to organizations throughout their Lean-Agile transformation, including the use of scaling frameworks, value steam identification to optimize flow

  • Work with senior leaders to define strategies and roadmaps for adopting and transitioning to Lean -Agile practices to successfully launch and coach Team of Teams

  • Perform hands-on coaching, in the context of a program (or Team of Teams / value stream): advise leaders on how to organize, mobilize, and launch squads influence process execution by guiding product owners, product managers, and mentor and facilitate events (as example for team coaches or scrum masters to follow), and drive relentless improvement of process in support of teamsâ€� efforts to work in a sustainable and smarter way

  • Identify patterns of how teams in the program work together: positive patterns for reinforcement and negative patterns for improvement opportunities

  • Design and lead workshops and training sessions to educate key individuals on the pragmatics of lean-agile champions and developing lasting Agile capabilities

  • Mentor and pair with change agents, stakeholders, and program manager on becoming true Lean-Agile champion a developing lasting agile capability

  • Maintain the integrity of the end state vision across a diverse group of teams

  • Promote continuous planning towards delivering a program or product roadmap

  • Establish Agile best practices in conjunction with technical coach best practices advocated by the technical coaches

  • Mentor and collaborate with Agile team coaches and other Agile coaches

  • Design and deliver training in support of implementing tailored approaches depending on a team’s or team of team’s context


The experience you bring:

  • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable, continuous Agile coaching experience at the program/value stream level

  • Minimum of 7 years of practical Agile experience

  • Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and/or other popular Agile practices and scaling framework is helpful (e.g., LeSS, DAD, Nexus), and their foundational elements (e.g., Scrum, Lean, Kanban, Extreme Programming)

  • Agile Certified Professional certifications are preferred: SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), Scrum@Scale Practioner, Certified LeSS Practioner (LeSS), Certified Team Coach (CTC), Certified Enterprise Coach CEC

  • A Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university
