At Avery Dennison, we are looking for a Manager Product Regulatory Compliance - Food Contact Materials to join our Product Stewardship team based in Oegstgeest.听

In this role, you will look to remove all regulatory compliance related barriers throughout product development & distribution activities for all our products within the portfolio (for both existing and new applications). It is essential that the Manager Product Regulatory Compliance is able to effectively identify & communicate threats and opportunities from a product compliance perspective to all relevant stakeholders.

You will have a significant impact by protecting our brand and by supporting Avery Dennison鈥檚 mission to deliver innovative products and intelligent solutions to customers all over the world.

The position will be located at our European Headquarters in Oegstgeest, the Netherlands, reporting to the Senior Product Stewardship Manager EMENA (who is also based in Oegstgeest).

Tasks and Responsibilities:听

• Maintain working knowledge of relevant Food Contact Materials legislations

• Evaluate the impact of expected developments in relevant legislation and regulations (global, EU and national) on product compliance and provide recommendations and support on how to best manage the pending changes

• Manage a team of Product regulatory compliance specialists (2 direct reports with the scope beyond food contact compliance)

• Provide input for the design and the implementation of the product compliance strategies, policies, programs and systems听

• Establish management, governance, and data processes and systems to ensure that products targeted to applications for use in the food supply chain are suitable for use from a compliance and safety perspective

• Act as point of contact for all regulatory compliance related requests

• Formulate adequate statements and maintain databases & documentation with key regulatory information related to product specifications and safety for internal and external stakeholders per business priority. The internal stakeholders include (Technical) Sales, Marketing, R&D, Legal, Operations, EHS, the main external partners are customers, end users, health institutions, certified test institutes, legal firms and government agencies听

• Liaise with internal stakeholders and external labs to evaluate Food Contact safety and compliance听

• Provide guidance, technical assistance, and training to cross functional groups such as R&D, product development, marketing, customer service, and procurement regarding product stewardship issues and initiatives

• Exercise the highest degree of discretion when handling all confidential matters

• Minimum 8 years of demonstrated success in a similar role within an international, fast-paced industrial environment听

• Education on an academic level (Master or Bachelor degree) in a relevant discipline (s.a. Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology (toxicology), Pharmacy, Food science)听

• Knowledge of food contact safety and compliance is a requirement

• Engineering knowledge and technical acumen with an ability to understand technical specification and communicate the implications to non-technical people

• Ability to prioritize and complete projects and assignments, exercising frequent independent judgment, initiative, and tact

• Experience in handling highly confidential matters

• Proven ability to interface with cross-functional groups to define and execute overall requirements听听

• Strong Analytical skills and consistent eye for detail听

• Proficient written and oral communication skills

• Excellent time-management, organizational and project management skills
