Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs Staff SW Engineer (multiple openings) in Austin, TX to:
- Collaborate with senior technical staff and PM to identify, document, plan contingency, track and manage risks and issues until all are resolved.
- Present technical solutions, capabilities, considerations, and features in business terms.
- Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner.
- Responsible for driving large to medium-sized feature projects and technology initiatives in terms of tech specs, design, architecture, and deployment.
- Provide end to end execution of components being added to platform and scoping out features.
- Apply programming techniques to design, build, and maintain solution for clients.
- Develop large scale, enterprise class distributed system or subsystems that require high availability, low latency, and strong data consistency computing.
- Implement solutions for low-latency, distributed services using open standard technologies.
- Position reports to the Austin, Texas office and may allow for partial telecommuting.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field followed by 8 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation.
- Alternatively, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineering-related occupation. Position requires experience in the following skills:
- Developing and implementing new data driven business solutions;
- Driving development effort end-to-end for on-time delivery of high quality solutions that conform to requirements and architectural vision;
- Writing SQL using Oracle, DB2, or MySQL;
- Python scripting;
- Java and Spring MVC;
- Building interactive UI components using Angular & React;
- Writing Unit test data loads and scripts for data validation; and
- Using performance monitoring tools to log, monitor, problem troubleshoot, and optimize code.
Additional Information
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Travel Requirements:Â This position does not require travel.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $155,709.00 USD to $199,300.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
