Karen is a former civil rights attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice, who was also in-house employment counsel in the private sector before leaning into all things people and culture related. Her more than 20 years of leadership experience encompasses a cross-section of companies and industries ranging from small tech startups to global aerospace enterprises, to US federal government agencies, and outsourced strategic human resources consulting. She has either led the people function, or served as a member of senior leadership with responsibility for key functions like DEI recruiting, EEO & Affirmative Action, and ethics & compliance.

Karen served on the Board of Directors for the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital for more than 10 years, co-chaired the Women’s Advisory Board and currently sits on the Nominating Committee.

She is co-administrator and Team Lead for Arlington Neighbors Welcoming Afghans, the volunteer grassroots community effort launched in 2021 to aid resettlement efforts of Afghan refugees in the Washington, DC metro area.

She also serves as the volunteer driver coordinator for the Arlington (Va) chapter of Food For Neighbors, a non-profit organization that sources and delivers more than 2000 pounds (907 kg) of individual meals and snack items 5 times per school year to local middle and high school food pantries to distribute during times when students might otherwise go hungry.

I'm passionate about helping Stryker to become more diverse and inclusive around the world, and am involved in one of our ERG's (employee resource groups), the Stryker Women's Network, to help continue building a more inclusive workplace.

When I'm not in the office, you'll find me getting a workout in, experimenting in the kitchen, spending time with friends, or off adventuring and experiencing new cultures through travelling when I can.

I started my 12+ years journey in my home country, Canada. Since, then, I've had the opportunity to work in Texas and California, and Singapore for the past 5 years. I love that I can come to work every day doing something I'm excited about, surrounded by driven people, and part of a mission to make healthcare better no matter where I am in the world. In 2018, I also took my first technology implementation assignment and served as the APAC Group Leader on our global Workday implementation. Her contributions have been instrumental in designing and implementing the concept of virtual HR Generalist support as a component of our HR Operating Model. Additionally, she played a key role in the change management planning and execution of the HR Model implementation. Before becoming a full-time employee at Pitney Bowes, Demitra was an intern through the INROADS partnership with our company. Stephanie Cannon (she/her) oversees the Operations Excellence & Collaborative Innovation group for Global eCommerce. The design of the Operations Excellence & CI group is intended to foster efficient partnership with the GEC operations and Pitney Bowes cross functional teams to accelerate the modernization and expansion of our network and support operational excellence for long-term growth.

The group consists of four teams: Industrial Engineering & Continuous Improvement that include our Collaborative Innovation Group, Workforce Optimization group, Automation and System Innovation group, and Operational Excellence group.

Other roles prior to current role included leading the Operations Practices & Innovation Group, Automation & Systems Innovation Group, Director of Operations for Fulfillment Services, and lead the Industrial Engineering group for fulfillment services.

Prior to joining Pitney Bowes (as part of the Newgistics acquisition), Stephanie consulted for West Monroe Partners. During this time, she served as a SME in operations and engineering strategies to create operational assessments to provide unique solutions that improved business processes across all aspects of the operation for multiple transportation, distribution, fulfillment and manufacturing clients, enabling them to reduce overall costs and scale more effectively.

Prior to joining West Monroe Partners, Stephanie worked for the United Parcel Service where she held various roles in engineering and operations for last mile delivery, transportation, and parcel hub lines of business.

She has a passion for creating innovative solutions and engaging user experiences, where she has the honor of supporting USDA, DOI, USDOT, FAA, and the Native Nations.

Before joining Esri, Kristen worked as a Geospatial Analyst, leveraging her geologic knowledge to map and analyze global geologic and soil datasets. Through this work, she cultivated a deep appreciation for the power of remote sensing and GIS technologies in unlocking insights from spatial data. Outside of her professional pursuits, Kristen is dedicated to community-building initiatives, working with Esri’s Young Professionals Network, advocating for women in STEM fields, and supporting HBCUs and K-12 education to promote diversity and inclusion in the STEM landscape.

Jess Altamira is a Senior Solution Engineer at Esri's Geo Experience Center in Redlands, California. In her role, she delivers technical demonstrations and presents at Esri conferences, inspiring her audience to creatively apply GIS technology to their organization. Jess's passion for GIS stems from the beginning of her journey when she accidentally slept through a class at Rutgers but made up for it by attending a later class where she caught an impactful presentation on GIS. This experience motivated her to pursue an M.S in GIS at the University of Redlands. After completing her education, she worked as a Business Analyst at SoCal Gas in Los Angeles before joining the Esri Utilities team. Through her involvement with conference presentations, she found her way to the GeoExperience team. She seeks to share the impact that the GIS community provides with everyone, no matter the scale of the presentation or audience. GIS has not only shaped her career but also taken her from coast to coast and around the world.

She began her career as an Air Traffic Assistant with the Federal Aviation Administration, after 9/11 was a Crisis Management Watch Officer for Homeland Security. She started at Raytheon in 2008, holding several roles to include Information Assurance Manager for Special Programs.

She was Section Lead in Systems Security Engineering and Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS) Cyber Lead where she contributed to the technical oversight. She was recognized for the quality and on-time delivery of CDRLs in support of Risk Management Framework.

Lisa was also Senior Principal Cybersecurity Engineer within Software as the Deputy Cyber Lead, Patriot Missile System supporting proposals, reviews and Independent Research and Development (IRAD). She provided guidance and recommended solutions in support of cyber resiliency efforts, current threats, and supported Assessment and Authorization events.

In her current role as Resource Manager, Cyber Protection Solutions she is responsible for staffing, retention, training and development. She is the Innovation Foundry Site Lead for Andover, receiving 2023 Innovators Award for her Innovation and Technology contributions fostering the culture of our future generations.

She has been recognized as an invaluable partner for collaboration in building the Department of Defense (DoD) Skillbridge and Warrior Care Programs, bringing innovative ways for improvement, ensuring process and advocating diversity of candidates, hosting the most candidates within RTX 2023.

She was also Philips Healthcare DoD Program Manager, leading their certification efforts, catapulting their portfolio of products into approval breaking way for 70mil in sales, received the Eager to Win Award in 2016.

Lisa is Six Sigma and Lean Master certified. She received her Master’s from University of New Hampshire and undergraduate at Southern New Hampshire University. She is adjunct faculty, New England College Master’s program in cybersecurity.

Liuba has spent her career leading organizations to empower working families both at home and abroad. She has worked for the UN Foundation and was selected as a Global Champion for Women’s Economic Empowerment by UN Women. Together with UN Women, she launched the campaign for Parental Leave. Liuba has forged partnerships between government, businesses, and nonprofits to tackle issues including economic development, access to health care, and paid family leave. She has worked with diplomats, healthcare workers and government leaders across four continents, and fought to make the use of international aid funds more accountable and less corrupt. In 2018, Liuba ran a historic congressional campaign to represent New York’s 2nd District in the U.S. House of Representatives. She received the highest vote share of any Democrat to run against Peter King in 25 years. Liuba raised over $2 million with no corporate PAC money and built a grassroots movement of volunteers that knocked over 250,000 doors. She became the first woman to receive federal approval to use campaign funds for childcare. The decision, which gained support from Hillary Clinton and 25 members of Congress, was unanimously approved by the FEC. Following her historic win, nine federal candidates used her FEC ruling to spend campaign funds for childcare� and candidates across the country followed her lead and petitioned their state and local governments for the same right.
